Part of our O waste initiative these upcycled firelogs are made from upcycled products from the coffee roasting process
Chaff is a paper lining that is extruded from the bean during the roasting process, it collects in the roaster and occasionally causes fires!
A Large amount of chaff is produced during the process, part of our chaff is donated to a local mushroom grower (who in turn produces a mushroom coffee with it) The other portion is saved, and mixed with paraffin wax, rolled into the fiber bags the coffee arrives in. This mix of chaff and wax burns consistently and hot enough to light most small logs without the need for excess kindling. Simply place in the fireplace or firepit and lit the bag! The wax and chaff will completely burn away leaving no mess, odor or residue in your fireplace.
